The Invitation

Join us in Sydney.

By our most joyful bidding, we invite those dearest to our hearts to assemble with us in Sydney, there to attend the celebration of our marriage and to bear witness to the sealing of our vows, after years richly adorned with shared adventure and devotion.

There, amidst the radiant majesty of the harbour, where the southern light glimmers upon the water and the sea breeze moves with easy grace, we're bloody stoked to be making it official and can't wait to have a proper yarn and a few bevvies with all you legends.

Our Story

How we found each other.

Chapter One

The First Date

In April of 2024, ours began in Brooklyn, at The Four Horsemen, whose very name seemed to portend the hand of fate. There, over wine, supper, and easy conversation, acquaintance gave way to delight. The evening carried us onward to Nightmoves and drinks at Maison Premiere, and by night's end, something singular had begun.

Chapter Two

Making It Official

Then came one of love's truest offerings: to be shown not merely a city, but a life. On Mother's Day in the spring of 2024, Stephanie guided Adam through Chicago, through the streets that shaped her, and the home in which her story first began. Later, amidst the sparkle of champagne at a champagne bar, we made our affection official.

Chapter Three

The Question

Thereafter came the question itself, upon the ancient heights of Peru. At dawn, with our mothers beside us, we ascended to Machu Picchu, the sacred citadel lying below in solemn majesty. Though the day was wrapped in cloud, the heavens parted for but a fleeting instant, and in that opening, the question was put, and forever began.

Chapter Four

Sydney, September 2027

And so we find ourselves here, writing to those who have most dearly shaped our story. We ask you to join us in Sydney, beneath the light of an Australian spring, as we begin the next chapter of our life together. There, amid the harbour's splendour and the grace of the season, we hope to celebrate our marriage in the company of those we hold most beloved.

The City

A love letter to Sydney.

Sydney in early September is our favourite version of itself — jacarandas beginning to bloom, the harbour glittering, days warm enough for a swim and nights cool enough for a jacket. We can't wait to share it with you.

Watercolour of Sydney Harbour: a ferry passing the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, jacaranda in blossom.

The Harbour

Ferry from Circular Quay to Manly for the best $8 you'll spend. Watch the sun set over the Opera House on the way back.

Watercolour of the Bondi to Bronte coastal walk, with sandstone cliffs and an ocean pool.

Bondi to Bronte

The coastal walk every Sydneysider recommends — six kilometres of cliffs, rock pools, and ocean baths. Wear something you can swim in.

Watercolour of a long seafood lunch laid out on a terrace above a Sydney bay.

A Long Lunch

The Sydney ritual: a seafood lunch that slips into afternoon. Try Icebergs at Bondi or Catalina in Rose Bay and don't rush.

Watercolour of the Royal Botanic Garden, looking past a fig tree to the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

Royal Botanic Garden

Walk through 30 hectares of green in the middle of the city, ending at Mrs Macquarie's Chair for the postcard view.

Where to stay

Hotels, Bondi and Airbnb — plus our room block

Sydney has no shortage of lovely hotels, and plenty of apartments too. Book early for the best rates.

The wedding is in the CBD, a short walk from Circular Quay — the waterfront by the Opera House.

We’re holding a block of rooms at the wedding venue’s own hotel, just below.

  • Nearby hotels — two dozen more are within walking distance.
Find them on our map, under Hotels
  • By the sea — if you’d rather wake up at the beach, look at Bondi: 8.4km, about 16 minutes’ drive
  • Airbnb — plenty of listings across the city as well.

Getting around

Tap your card: metro, train, ferry and bus

Tap a credit card or your phone (or buy an Opal card) and you’re on every metro, train, ferry and bus in the city. Ubers are plentiful; ferries are the most scenic commute in the world.

What to pack & wear

Spring weather, and the dress code

Early September is the start of spring — think 20°C days and 11°C nights (68–70°F days, 52–54°F evenings). A light jacket, sunglasses, swimmers for the braver among you, and dancing shoes.

Formal attire for the ceremony and reception — dress to impress, but please avoid white, ivory or cream on the day.

The arched sandstone entrance to The Establishment Hotel on Bridge Lane, lanterns lit and the doorway glowing.

Questions You May Ask

When should we RSVP by?

Please RSVP by June 1, 2027. You can RSVP through this website, or by returning the RSVP card mailed to you with your invitation. Please let us know any dietary restrictions or requirements with your RSVP.

What's the dress code?

Formal attire — black tie — for both the ceremony and the reception. Both will take place indoors.

Can we bring a plus-one?

Your invitation will indicate if a plus-one is included. Because of the size of the venue, we're keeping the celebration intentional — but we'll make sure everyone feels at home.

Are children welcome?

We love your little ones, and they are welcome at the ceremony hour — the reception, however, will be an adults-only evening.

Sydney has excellent babysitting services and we're happy to help coordinate childcare; many hotels can arrange it too. For those staying at The Establishment Hotel, in-room babysitting is available, and cots and infant beds are provided on request. Contact the concierge to arrange it:

Is there a registry?

Your presence is truly the gift, and we appreciate the very long distance many of you will travel to celebrate with us. If you'd still like to celebrate with something, we'll share a registry closer to the date — likely toward a honeymoon we'll remember for the rest of our lives.

What time of year is early September in Sydney?

The first week of spring. Expect mild days, cool evenings, and the city at its most photogenic — jacarandas just starting to hint at purple.
